Nova Scotia: Navy Blue and Ready for You

Come on a walking tour with me to discover the nei Come on a walking tour with me to discover the neighborhood of Plateau Mont-Royal (more commonly known as the Plateau) in Montreal, Canada 🇨🇦
It's a hot spot for immigration by French people from France (mostly youth on PVT - a working holiday visa) and has the unique location of bookending two landmarks of the city: the Olympic Stadium and Mount. Royal, the mountain after which the city of Montreal is named. Not to mention, it is a very trendy and lively neighborhood with lots of cafes, restaurants, and bars, a decent shopping scene, an active nightlife, and it's south enough to be walking distance to downtown, the Old City (Vieux Montréal), and the harbour.
Pour ta prochaine visite à Montréal, c'est un incontournable !

Sheep in the park? 🐑🐏 Yes, ma'am. At Maisonneuve Sheep in the park? 🐑🐏
Yes, ma'am. At Maisonneuve Park in Montréal, Canada, there is an ecological initiative that's in place for several years now, where sheep are used to mow the lawn. Considering the vast and verdant land in question, this is sure to be a treat for both the sheep and the many visitors to the park - from joggers and cyclists to families and dating couples - who can enjoy the manicured grounds without the noise and pollution of machinery.
Ka-ching. Win-win. 🎰💸
Do you know of a similar initiative in another city? Drop your observations in the comments below 👇🏾

In Québec culture, you go apple picking in September. But never alone. You go with friends, you go with family, you go with neighbors, you go. For it's not so much for the apples that you go (though they are a delicious side benefit) but rather for the company, the experience, and the ritual.
And then you've got to decide what to do with all of the apples you haul home.
Shall we have a Forest Gump Bubba moment? Complete this list with your suggestions in the comments:
Apple pie
Apple pancakes
Apple sauce

Get your maple taffy on! 🍁🍁🍁 Tire d'érable, also c Get your maple taffy on! 🍁🍁🍁 Tire d'érable, also called tire sur neige, is a classic, tasty, and easy to prepare dessert /snack that's characteristic of this time of the year - the late winter-early spring-cabane à sucre-sugar shack-maple tapping time of year!
This is what a typical maple taffy stand looks like in Quebec. Not all the traditional details accompanying this business - the maple leaf decor, the skis, the barrels that the maple sugar can be stored in, the metal bucket for collecting the tapped syrup, the snow shoes, the classic red and black checkered fabric that's printed on table cloths or donned as oversized button-down shirts. And, of course, the very wood material used to build the wooden planked cabin. Classic, classic, classic, classic.
And how is maple taffy made? Simply by pouring lines of warmed up maple syrup over a tray of snow and then rolling up the frozen, crystallized maple syrup into a spool of maple taffy using a wooden coffee stirrer.
Let me know if you've ever tried this and what you thought of it, or if you're curious to try it for the first time now that you've had your crash course on the subject.
